Look at the keyboard on your computer. Look at the 'F' and 'J'. Why only two keys that have small lines and not in others?
In 2002, June E. Botich of Naples Italy, has filed a patent on the small lines F and J keys on the keyboard. It aims to help speed typing on the keyboard. Since then, fast typing or shorthand technique has become a standard in almost all computer keyboards around the world.
Its history began in 1888 when Frank Edward McGurrin find methods for traditional typewriter typing known as touch typing. Before the computer, board type has been used and the composition of the keyboard is almost the same as the structure of modern computer keyboard.
Touch typing has the arrangement of letters and symbols to be memorized by the artisan type to type fast. The middle row of the keyboard, there are letters which allows gamer given type. To improve memory and prevent errors, then a 'sign' put on the letter 'F' and 'J'.
In addition, small lines that stand out to help the builders touch type typewriter typing considering key on the keyboard without having to look the position. In shorthand lessons, left index finger is placed on the letter 'F' followed by the middle finger on the letter 'D' ring finger in letter 'S' and the little finger on the letter 'A'.
On the right side, right forefinger in the letter 'J', the middle finger at the 'K', the ring finger on the 'L' and right pinkie on the sign ":,;". In view of this position, gamers will be able to feel his finger type is placed in the right place.
This is the main reason for the small lines in the 'F' and 'J' patented.
